Garage Door Questions From Fort Pierce Homeowners

The Areas We Cover

We're based at 2705 Peters Rd in Fort Pierce, and most of our calls come from right around the shop - Fort Pierce South, about a mile out, and Fort Pierce North, roughly four miles north. We also run jobs in White City (4 miles), Indian River Estates (6 miles), and River Park (7 miles).

Further out, we cover Lakewood Park (8 miles), South Beach (10 miles), and Florida Ridge (11 miles). We also take calls from Vero Beach South and Jensen Beach, both about 14 miles from the shop, North River Shores at 15 miles, and West Vero Corridor at 17 miles.

On the outer edge of what we'll drive for, we cover Palm City, Gifford, and Sewall's Point, each about 18 miles out, and Indian River Shores at 20 miles. If you're inside that ring, call and tell us your street - we'll tell you straight whether it's a same-day trip or something we need to schedule around the route that day. The farther out you are, the more it helps to book ahead rather than call for an emergency slot.

What We Do Not Take On

A lot of the housing stock in this area went up between 1969 and 1993, with the median landing around 1986, so most of what we see is late-70s through 90s door and opener hardware - extension springs, older chain-drive openers, steel sectional doors that have been repainted a few times. We know that stock well.

What we don't do: we're not a general handyman service, and we don't take on jobs that are really carpentry or framing work - a rotted header or a door frame that's pulled away from the studs needs a contractor, not a spring adjustment. We also won't pull a torsion spring system apart and rebuild it around parts we can't verify are rated for the door's weight; if the numbers don't match, we tell you and price a proper replacement instead.

If your opener is a smart model tied into a home automation system and the fault is in the app or the network side rather than the motor or the rail, that's outside what we troubleshoot - that's a call to whoever set up the system. And if a door's cheaper to replace than to keep patching, given the age of the housing here, we'll say so instead of running up a repair bill on hardware that's on its way out anyway.

Getting Hold of Us

Call (772) 280-9097. That's the number that gets you a person, not a queue, and it's the fastest way to get a truck pointed at your address the same day if you're near the shop on Peters Rd.

Have the door's basic symptoms ready when you call - does it move at all, is it a spring that let go, is the opener running but the door not moving, or is a cable off the drum. That lets us bring the right parts instead of a guess.

Our shop address is 2705 Peters Rd, Unit 16-20, Fort Pierce, FL 34945, if you'd rather stop by than call. We don't have online booking set up, so phone is the way in for now.

Frequently asked questions

Do you come out to Jensen Beach or Vero Beach South?

Yes, both are in our service area - Vero Beach South and Jensen Beach are each about 14 miles from our shop on Peters Rd. Same-day service depends on the route that day, so it helps to call in the morning if it's not an emergency.

How far will you travel for a repair?

Our routine coverage runs from Fort Pierce South, a mile from the shop, out to places like Indian River Shores, about 20 miles away. The farther the address, the more it helps to schedule rather than expect a same-day emergency slot.

My opener is smart-home connected and won't respond to the app - can you fix that?

If the motor and rail are working fine and the issue is the app or your home network, that's not something we troubleshoot. We work on the door and opener hardware itself - springs, cables, rollers, tracks, and the motor unit.

Is it worth repairing an older door instead of replacing it?

Depends on the door. A lot of homes here date to the 1970s through 90s, and hardware from that era isn't always worth patching piece by piece. If the repair cost gets close to replacement, we'll tell you plainly instead of running up a bill.

What's the best way to reach you?

Call (772) 280-9097. That gets you a person who can ask what's wrong with the door and get a truck routed to you, rather than a form that sits until someone reads it.
